As the Latino population in the United States continues to grow, the number of Latino school children grows as well. In fact, it is projected that Latino children will make up 25 percent of the school-age population by the year 2025. Currently, the proportion of Latino school administrators, as compared to students, is disproportionally low.

The mission of ALAS-Utah is to develop and support current aspiring Latino educators, helping them advance into positions of leadership. Accordingly, ALAS-Utah is offering multiple scholarships to aspiring Latino school educators.

ALAS Utah Scholarship

The Association of Latino Administrators and Superintendents- Utah will award two $5000 scholarships to attend a Utah college or university or an online program while the candidate resides in Utah in an educational leadership program that leads to an administrative license.

  • Be an aspiring Latino educator

  • Be a current dues-paying member of ALAS-Utah

  • Be enrolled in or accepted into an educational leadership program

  • Have an eventual goal to serve as an administrator at the school or district level
